Summer 2009 As the summer winds up, we look back and we’ve networked through Stampede and seen some extreme and wet weather. We have sunshine in store for the last weeks.
Are we gearing up for Fall? Recently the Calgary Herald reported in its Calgary Business section…
“British Columbia on Thursday upped the ante in its bid to lure oil and gas investment dollars with a sweeping royalty incentive package designed to produce ”immediate economic benefits” and stimulate drilling in its natural gas sector”
Let’s hope this means a busy Q3 & Q4 for Calgary companies.
Calgary Women in Energy’s AGM was well attended. The August 13th Mix and Mingler was lively, a few new faces and many well known friends enjoyed the atmosphere at Belgo.
The 2009 Golf Tournament pictures are posted on the website. Enjoy! Take a look at all the recent CWIE website updates.

Catherine Brownlee, CWIE membernotes:
“We have been through some of the most difficult times that our Industry has experienced. There are still more challenging times ahead, however, there has been a slow shift in positive activity. The majority of the “players” are skeptical and therefore, will move cautiously as they approach Q3 and Q4. Saskatchewan, BC and Manitoba will continue in a strong growth pattern as increased drilling activity is planned over the next year. Stay the course, remain positive, create strong relationships and then wait for the inevitable.“
